Guatemalan Cotton Ikat - Purple & Blue Ikat Madras Stripe

This beautiful 100% cotton ikat fabric is hand woven and hand dyed in Guatemala using a traditional treadle loom. The bands of the fabric run vertically and horizontally creating a grid with a ikat pattern and madras stripe. This fabric is mid-weight, perfect for skirts, pants, and lightweight jackets.

Fabric is sold by the 1/2 yard (you may order multiples of 1/2 yards; all yardage us cut as one continuous length.)

• 100% cotton.
• mid-weight - soft hand and gets softer with wash and wear.
• 34" (86.4cm) wide.
• We recommend for the first washing, hand wash or soak fabric in a combination of water and a small amount of non-iodized salt (kosher is okay) to set the colors  Always pre wash your cloth before sewing to get rid of any shrinkage and set colors. After setting the colors the fabric may be machine washed in cold water using a mild soap.
• Line Dry or cool tumble dry.
