Misses 8-22.
Elegant lingerie is a woman's treasured secret. Folkwear presents this sewing pattern for four intimate possibilities from the 1920's and 1930s: a skimming camisole or "chemise-top"; sassy tap pants or "knickers"; a bias teddy (known in its time a "cami-knickers," "combinations," or "step-ins"); and a bias slip. Today, camisole, tap pants, and teddy can also go public for summer wear, and the slip in rich satin dressed up, goes to dinner.
The straight Camisole buttons at center front and is drawn up above the bust by a ribbon through a self-casing. It ends just below the waist, which can be drawn up by a ribbon through a casing.
The Tap Pants close at the side plackets with snaps. Worn low on the waist, they fit smoothly over the hip and flare out delicately from the fullest point. Simple binding finishes the edges.
The bias cut of the Teddy gives a close fit with comfort - the best combination of all. Shaped facings finish the top; small buttoned inserts catch center front and back together at the crotch gusset.
The bias Slip extends the teddy's flattering bias cut to mid knee.
Optional embellishment instructions include crocheted shoulder straps and top edge with beading on the camisole. Instructions are included.
Suggested fabrics: Lightweight, soft fabrics of silk, cotton, rayon, synthetics, or blends such as crepe, challis, batiste, voile, or satin.
